Elie van Strien (67) worked as a commissioner/ chief fire officer in several cities in the Netherlands.
He was the CFO of Eindhoven, Rotterdam and the last city was Amsterdam. From 2000-2005 he was the advisor of the Minister for fire and disaster management. All these years he was a member of the board of regional fire chiefs in the Netherlands, and member of the FEU in Europe. In 2016 he retired and started his own consulting firm.
He is very committed with the fire safety care of people and therefore seized the opportunity to become the chairman of the European Fire Safety Alliance in 2019.
