Javier Elorza is Fire- Subinspector in the Bizkaia Fire Brigade. He has a degree in Mechanics Engineering and a Bachelor Degree in Fire Engineering by the University of Central Lancashire. He also has a Postgraduate in Fire Safety by the University of Ulster. He first joined the Fire Service in 1983 as firefighter and has gradually escalated to the rank of Subinspector (D.O.). Javier was also the head of the CERN Fire and Rescue Service in Geneva, from 1999 to 2003 and after 12 years at the Bizkaia Fire Brigade as responsible for the Training Department, now he is in the Prevention Department. He has represented the Spanish Fire Service in several European projects and has been a delegate in FEU on behalf of the Spanish Fire Officers Association APTB during more than 12 years.
