João Lourenço is a professor working at Madeira’s Regional Civil Protection Service (SRPC), since 2017, where he manages the Communication and Awareness Office.
He is responsible for coordinating SRPC awareness projects, namely the ones implemented in all of Madeira’s Autonomous Region schools. These projects aim to promote on the whole school community an improved safety culture and the creation of personal and collective strategies and behaviors that contribute to better preparation and resilience of society in face of different risks.
In association with the Regional Secretariat of Education of Madeira he is also responsible for training all new school safety delegates.
João has a degree in Mathematics for Teachers from the University of Beira Interior, having worked in several schools, with students from 8 to 80 years old, where he held middle and top management positions.
